Þórólfur Árnason

Þórólfur Árnason took over as the mayor of Reykjavík on February 1, 2003 when Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir the former mayor resigned for a carrer in national politics.
He was forced to resign on November 30, 2004 because of a scandal that he was involved in with the oil companies in Iceland a few years earlier.
He succeeded Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir.
