Ā
From Freepedia
"Ā" or "ā", is a letter, representing a vowel, in the Latvian alphabet. It comes after A and before B in alphabetical order: for instance baznīca comes before bārda in a Latvian dictionary.
It is also used to denote long vowels in Polynesian languages as well as in Latin and in some romanizations of Japanese (rōmaji) or even romanizations of Arabic. In Pinyin, it denotes A in the first tone of Mandarin Chinese. In these languages, it has the same alphabetical order as A and is not considered a separate letter.
The Ā is also found in the logo for the drain cleaner Drāno.
