Čoka

Čoka (Serbian: Čoka or Чока, Hungarian: Csóka) is a town and municipality in the North Banat District of Vojvodina, Serbia and Montenegro. The town has a population of 4,720, while Čoka municipality has 13,835 inhabitants.

Čoka municipality includes the town of Čoka and seven villages. The villages are (Hungarian names are in italics):
- Padej (Padé)
- Jazovo (Hódegyháza)
- Banatski Monoštor (Kanizsamonostor)
- Vrbica (Egyházaskér)
- Crna Bara (Feketetó)
- Sanad (Szanád)
- Ostojićevo (Tiszaszentmiklós)
Ethnic groups
Ethnic Hungarians form a majority of 51.6% or 7,133 (2002 census). Five local communities have a Hungarian majority. Crna Bara has a relative Hungarian majority. Sanad and Ostojićevo have Serb majorities, although the latter has over 20% Hungarians.
