Żelazowa Wola

From Freepedia

Żelazowa Wola is a village on the Utrata River in the Masovian Voivodship, 60 km from Warsaw, Poland. The birthplace of the famous Polish pianist and composer Fryderyk Chopin.

In the preserved annex of the former manor surrounded with a park we can visit a museum of remembrances connected with the outstanding composer. The picturesque Mazovian landscape, numerous winding streams surrounded by willows and hillocks as well as Lowicz folk songs overheard by Chopin in his childhood inspired him to compose a number of musical works. Today the park in the summertime sounds with the piano works performed by the most outstanding pianists from all over the world. Their participation in the concert is treated by them as paying tribute to the composer.
