Achaemenes (satrap)

Achaemenes was the satrap of Egypt from 484 BC until his death in 460 BC, and a member of the Achaemenid dynasty.
He was a son of Persian king Darius I, brother of Xerxes I. After the first rebellion of Egypt, he was put in charge of the country by his brother the king. He commanded the Persian fleet at Salamis Island, and was defeated and slain by Inarus, the leader of the second rebellion of Egypt.
