Ahmad Hasan Dani

Ahmad Hassan Dani (born 1920) is a Pakistani archaeologist and linguist and is considered to be one of the foremost authorities on South Asian archaeology and history. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the Quaid-i-Azam University and the director of Taxila Institute of Asian Civilizations. He was the first Muslim graduate of the Banaras Hindu University. He is also the recipient of the highest civil award in Pakistan, the Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
