AI (in Japanese: あい; born January 2, 1981) is a Japanese singer. She was born in the U.S city of Los Angeles to a Japanese father and half-Japanese, half-Italian mother, and grew up in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Her blood type is B. She is the first female artist to be signed to hip-hop label Def Jam Japan.
