Ai Miyazato

Ai Miyazato (born 19 June 1985) is a Japanese golfer. She won a professional event called the Dunlop Open as an amateur in 2003. In her 2004 rookie season on the Japan LPGA Tour she won five tournaments. In January 2005 she won the inaugural Acer World Cup of Golf for Japan in partnership with Rui Kitada. Miyazato is planning on competing full time on the U.S. LPGA Tour in 2006, she hopes to qualify this year.In September she passed the first stage of qualifying school in California. Miyazato became the youngest player on the JLPGA Tour to win a major at 20 years following the Japan Open, she currently lies in second place on the money list. Miyzato has been credited with reviving the JLPGA Tour after the retirement of Ayako Okamato. In Septemner the largest gallery to attend on the final day of a JLPGA event occured at the Japan Open when over 31,000 spectators attended. She has endorsements deals with Bridgestone Golf, Suntory, Japan Airlines, Oakley, Paradiso & Hisamitsu
