Aizawl is the capital city of the state of Mizoram in India. Aizawl(Pop:260,000), the capital city of Mizoram which lies at the southern side border, is a beautiful place that offers plenty of tourist attractions to tourists and habitants alike. The city is situated on top of a hill and its surrounding slopes and valleys. Besides its breathtaking beauty, Aizawl is the business centre and storehouse of all important Government offices, State assembly house and civil secretariat. It also enhouses different communities of Mizos wherein they maintain peaceful coexistence as the main theme. Various varieties of jungle products , monuments and memorials connected with legends and folklores are also avalilable. This lively and bustling city is the headquarter of Aizawl District is definitely enchanting and worth visiting.

Aizawl is connected with the rest of the country by NH 54 through Silchar in Assam. The city is also served by Lengpui Airport(1hr drive) which connects the city with daily Indian Airlines flights to and from Kolkata(Calcutta), Imphal and Guwahati. Foreigners and visitors from other Indian states needs to have permit to visit Aizawl or Mizoram which can be applied at Indian Mission at respected countries or Immigration/Home Office in all major cities and airports.
