Ajuran

Ajuran (or Ajuuraan) are a Somali clan sometimes counted among the Hawiye and viewed by some as a separate clan family unto itself. The Ajuuraan live throughout east Africain Somalia, eastern Ethiopia, and north-west Kenya. The Ajuuraan are best known in Somali history for establishing the Gareen dynasty based in Qalaafo (now part of Ethopia). The Gareen dynasty ruled parts of east Africa from the 1500th to the 20th centry. There are also ajuran who settle in hamar/mogadishu. They usally call themselves moorshe and are descendants of the ajuran Abdalla Dayle lineage
