Akodon |
The Akodontini is a tribe of the subfamily Sigmodontinae, family Cricetidae, order Rodentia. It includes at least 95 living species in 14 genera and is distributed mainly in the southern half of South America, with only some genera extending into Guyana (Podoxymys) or Venezuela (Bolomys). It also includes genera previously placed in "Scapteromyini". The following genera are now generally recognized:

- Blarinomys
- Bolomys
- Brucepattersonius
- Deltamys
- Juscelinomys
- Kunsia
- Lenoxus
- Necromys
- Oxymycterus
- Podoxymys
- Scapteromys
- Thalpomys
- Thaptomys
Akodon includes Chalcomys, Hypsimys, and Microxus, but does not include Deltamys, Thaptomys, Thalpomys, Bolomys and Necromys.
The tribe Abrothrichini has recently been split from the akodontines.
