Aksapada Gautama (probably c. 2nd century BC) was an Indian logician who authored the Nyaya Sutras, which are the foundation of the Nyaya school of Hinduism. Aksapada is known also as Gautama Rishi and Dirghatapas, and because of the various ways of rendering Sanskrit into English, there are many variant spellings of this name.
