Alexandra Georgievna of Greece

Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Alexandra Georgievna of Russia (Александра Георгиевна), née Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Greece and Denmark (August 30, 1870–September 24, 1891) was daughter of George I of Greece and Olga, Queen of Greece herself daughter of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich of Russia.
She was born in Corfu, Greece. When she was 19 years old, she was married to Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich of Russia. They had two children: HIH Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, and HIH Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich.
Two months before Dmitri's birth, Alexandra took a walk with her friends on the bank of the Moskva River and jumped directly into a boat that was permenantly moored there. The next day, she collapsed in the middle of a ball from violent labor pangs brought on by the previous days activities. She gave birth to her son, then lapsed into a fatal coma. Six days after giving birth to Dmitri, she died. Her husband later morganatically remarried Olga Karnovich.
