Alfonso Guerra
From Freepedia
Alfonso Guerra González (born May 31, 1940 in Sevilla) is a Spanish politician. A leading member of the Spanish Workers' Socialist Party (PSOE), he served as Vicepresident of the Government (vicepresidente del Gobierno, i.e., equivalent to deputy Prime Minister) of Spain from 1982 to 1991, under the presidency of Felipe González. Certainly Guerra was always an extremely controversial politician. His acid speech against his opponents was always criticised as demagogue by his detractors. He was force to quit his position as vice-president following a major financial scandal in the government of one of the capital cities in the south of Spain. Ever since he quit his ideas have remained in the PSOE in which is known as "Guerrista" sector, nowadays a faction that has lost power almost completely. He now has very fragile health.
