Alfred Cumming

Alfred Cumming (1802 1873) was appointed governor of the Utah territory in 1858 replacing Brigham Young following the Utah War. He served as governor until 1861. He was renowned as a ladies man though rumor had it he indulged in the practices of the Mormon natives. He is an ancestor of actor Alan Cumming.
