Alfred Noble Prize

From Freepedia

The Alfred Noble Prize is an award created to recognize an outstanding technical paper by an author under the age of 35. The Noble Prize is administered anually by the ASCE in conjunction with the ASME, AIME, IEEE, and WSE.

The prize was established in 1929 and consists of an award from the income of a fund contributed by engineers and others in honor of Alfred Noble, Past President of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Western Society of Engineers, for the purpose of perpetuating his name and achievements. The prize consists of a certificate, a cash prize, and travel fare to and from the place of formal presentation (excluding living expenses). Nominations are considered anually for the award, but it is not necessarily awarded every year if no deserving candidates are nominated.

This prize unrelated to the Alfred Nobel Prize although the two are often confused due to their similar spellings.
