Allen Doyle

Allen Doyle (born July 26 1948 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island) is an American golfer who is a leading player on the Champions Tour, the world's leading tour for senior golfers.
Doyle attended Norwich University. Exceptionally for a future leading professional, despite winning numerous amateur titles, he did not turn pro until he was 46. In 1995 he won three times on the second tier Nike Tour. He became eligible to play on the Senior PGA Tour when he turned fifty in July 1998, and quickly found success, winning four official money events in 1999 including one the Senior PGA Championship, which is one of the senior majors. In 2001 he won his second senior major, the Senior Players Championship, and topped the Seniors Tour money list. In 2005 he claimed a third major at the most lucrative tournament in senior golf, the U.S. Senior Open, erasing a nine stroke deficit with a 63 in the final round. His career earnings on the Champions Tour exceed 11 million U.S. dollars.
Doyle is a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame.
