American Caesar

From Freepedia

First published in 1978, American Caesar is an account of the life of General of the Armies Douglas MacArthur. Written by William Manchester, who is also a veteran of the Pacific Campaign, American Caesar covers MacArthur's entire life; from the actions of his father in the American Civil War to the U.S. 42nd Infantry Division to the Pacific and the Philippines to Korea. It is a very enlightening read and very informative, yet if it is an accurate, comprehensive account you are looking for, see the work of Geoffrey Perret; Old Soldiers Never Die. American Caesar: Douglas MacArthur 1880-1964 is still in print today.
