Antoine de Beauterne
From Freepedia
Monsieur Antoine de Beauterne was a chief huntsman (lieutenant des Chasses) of king Louis XV and a professional wolf hunter, sent to stop the attacks of the Beast of Gévaudan with fourteen crack marksmen as assistants selected. De Beauterne replaced Grand-louvetier Denneval and to the surprise of all on September 21 1765 announced he had killed the beast somewhere farther in the mounts of Velay. De Beauterne was keen to prove that and called on a survivor of the attack La Pucelle, a young girl famous for fending the beast off with a spindle.
De Beauterne appeared as a character in "Brotherhood of the Wolf" film.
