Artificial photosynthesis

From Freepedia

Artificial photosynthesis is a man-made process that attempts to replicate the natural process of photosynthesis, converting sunlight and carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and oxygen. It has been suggested that such a process replicated on an industrial scale could help to counter global warming. Using sunlight to split water into hydrogen helps making the hydrogen economy become a reality, see water splitting. Through artificial photosynthesis, not only can man replicate the process of photosynthesis, but will be able to gain a greater understanding of the intricacies of photosynthesis with respect to plants and thus expand knowledge of the concept within nature.
