(Redirected from Australian aboriginal flag)

The Australian Aboriginal flag was designed in 1971 by Harold Thomas, an Aboriginal artist. In 1995 it was officially accepted by the Australian government to be legally "a Flag of Australia". The colours of the flag (red, yellow and black) represent the colour of the Australian outback soil, the sun and the people's skin. The flag was flown over the Sydney Harbour Bridge during the march for reconciliation of 2000, and many other events.
