Autosexuality

From Freepedia

As a sexual preference, autosexuality refers to people who choose to have sex with themselves (that is, they prefer to masturbate rather than having interpersonal sex). The adjective is "autosexual", as in "autosexual behavior".

It is rather rare for someone to be sexually attracted only to themselves when presented with a diverse range of possible mates.

Some people consider autosexuality to be a paraphilia.

Some people consider autosexuality as an exclusive preference to be a form of homosexuality, since all people are the same gender as themselves. Others find it to be a distinct sexual orientation or a distinct type of queerness. Still others say it has nothing to do with any of those things.

Autoeroticism

Autoeroticism is the practice of fulfilling one's own sexual needs without a partner. The most common form of autoeroticism is masturbation. Autosexual behavior (i.e. masturbation) is considered to be a normal part of human development, when children discover that they are able to sexually stimulate themselves. It has been asserted by some that even fetuses engage in this activity. Many people also use dildos, vibrators, anal beads, sybian machines, and other sex toys alone.

Most autoerotic practices are relatively or entirely safe.

One example of a dangerous practice is autoerotic asphyxiation. It may result in death, particularly when done alone.

Self-bondage is the practice of sexual bondage by oneself; it carries a higher risk than bondage with a partner, and there is a large potential for things to go wrong.

Sometimes, autosexuals use their practices (i.e. masturbation) as substitute for harmful behaviors toward others, such as rape, fetish, and many other kinds of immoral and criminal behaviors. Some wish that by fantasizing in their acts, they can help reduce and eventually relieve the thoughts of harming others. However, many case studies have proven that the thoughts of harming others strengthen rather than weaken, which leads to violent behaviors.
