Ávila is a town in the south of Old Castile, the capital of the province of the same name, now part of the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain.
It is renowned for Teresa of Avila, the Carmelite reformer, who lived there, the Ávila city wall, which is the second-largest in the world, and the Cathedral.
