Bare-bellied hedgehog (also known as Madras hedgehog) is a rare species of hedgehogs eiter in Desert hedgehog genus or a subspecie of Indian Hedgehog. Although for some time it was considered extinct, it has been recently rediscovered and is currently observed in India at Kalakad–Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, although further research is needed.
