Beer goggles

Beer goggles is a slang term for a phenomenon in which one's consumption of alcohol makes physically unattractive people appear beautiful. The term is often associated with the awkward experience of waking up the following morning to discover that the person lying next to you is less attractive, quite possibly far heavier, and maybe even of a different gender or sexual orientation than you had believed the evening before.

Some police departments also have literal beer goggles, which distort vision to an approximation of drunkenness. These are used in education programs to teach people, often teenagers, about the danger of drunk driving.

Also known as "Stellavision", Beer Goggles are sometimes accompanied by a "Beer Scooter", upon which one arrives miraculously home from the pub in seemingly no time at all, usually after imbibing a forgotten kebab or some chips along the way. Regardless of the level of inebriation.
