Beta 2-microglobulin

A small protein that forms part of the Class I MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex). In patients on long-term hemodialysis, it can aggregate into amyloid fibers that deposit in joint spaces, a disease known as dialysis-related amyloidosis.
