Bonython is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia district of Tuggeranong. The postcode is 2905. The suburb is named after Sir John Bonython, the owner of the Adelaide Advertiser who promoted Federation. It was gazetted on 17 October 1986. Streets are named after South Australians, especially journalists.
It is next to the suburbs of Gordon, Isabella Plains and Greenway. It is bounded by Drakeford Drive and the Murrumbidgee River. Located in the suburb is Mt. Stranger at an elevation of 660 metres. There is also the Bonython Neighbourhood oval.
