Brønsted acid
From Freepedia
A Brønsted-Lowry acid (sometimes shortened to Brønsted acid) is an acid that donates a hydrogen ion to another compound, called a Brønsted-Lowry base.
For example, if the Brønsted-Lowry acid HCl (hydrochloric acid) is mixed with AgF it donates a H+ ion, a proton (hence the name proton donor) to form AgCl and HF (hydrofluoric acid).
