Bra (or Bulla in the English dub of the anime) is a fictional character in the manga Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z and the anime Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.
She is the second child (after Trunks) of Bulma and Vegeta, therefore half human and half Saiyan. Her best friend is the daughter of Son Gohan and Videl, Pan. She has more Saiyan in her than Pan does. Unlike Pan who seems tom-boyish, Bra seems pretty feminine and sticks around her mom.
She is usually cheerful, eager to please, and very fond of her father. In fact, Bra may be the only person in the universe that Vegeta will answer to. Her father doesn't appear to make a point of encouraging her to train (like he does to her brother Trunks), but the two are quite close, as it becomes apparent in GT, where Vegeta proves to be very protective of his daughter. Bra loves her father very much and has a strong sense of pride in him.
During the Bebi Saga, Bra (along with the rest of the world) is possessed by Bebi. She is one of the four characters who help Bebi become stronger; after this, however, her role is greatly reduced. She is last seen at the end of the Super 17 Saga, standing with the others at the Capsule Corporation, when Black Smoke Shenron appears, but for some reason she is not seen in the next episode with them, and is not seen until the end of the series, just like Marron.
Bra, although just a minor character, has received training from her father but she quits the training very early and the only special attack seen that she knows how to do is flying and raising her energy chi (ki).
Her unusual name comes from the running joke of her family members all being named after various undergarments; her full name is Bra Briefs.
Pan and Bra's Ages Controversy
Dragon Ball Z
For Pan, it is stated in the anime that she is 4 years old. In the Dragon Ball Z anime, however, she is said to be 3 years old, instead. Despite these two "official" ages, neither of these can be reconciled with the timeline and complete character guide given in official guidebooks. In these guides, Pan is born in 779 Age and the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai (occuring at the end of Dragon Ball Z when Pan is introduced) happened in 784 Age. This would would make Pan 5 years old, and not 4 years old as said in the anime. Since her age is actually stated in the anime, Pan is 4 years old in Dragon Ball Z.
For Bra, it seems Bird Studio accidently gave her two birth dates. According to the timeline, she is born in 780 Age, meaning she is 4 years old (and a year younger than Pan in the timeline). According to the Complete Character Guide, however, she is born in 778 Age, meaning she is 6 years old (and a year older than Pan in the timeline). Bra's age is never officially given, but Toei went with the idea that Bra is older than Pan to fit the storyline for Dragon Ball GT. So, regardless of Pan's age at the end of Dragon Ball Z, Bra is generally considered to be one year older.
Dragon Ball GT
According to the timeline, Dragon Ball GT takes place in 789 AD, 5 years after Dragon Ball Z (though the exact number of years in between the two series is never explicitly stated within the anime proper). This would make Pan 10 years old and Bra 11 years old at the start of Dragon Ball GT. However, Toei had stated in an interview that the beginning of Dragon Ball GT took place 9 years after Dragon Ball Z, which means Pan would be 13 years old and Bra would be 14 years old at the start of Dragon Ball GT. FUNimation's version of the television show adds even more confusion by saying that the series begins 10 years after the end of Dragon Ball Z, making Pan 14 and Bra 15.
