Bunyaviridae is a family of viruses. Their morphology is somewhat similar to the family of Paramyxoviridae, envelope, spherical, and helical with the diameter of 80-120 nm. Bunyaviridae are single-stranded RNA viruses with negative polarity, the genome is circular with the size around 11-19 kbp.

The genome consists of 3 segments which are L, M, and S, called tripartite. For the Genus of Phlebovirus, the S partite is ambisense. Ambisense means that one segment of RNA strand consist of half positive sense and half negative sense.

The replication for this RNA virus is still in cytoplasm. Bunyaviridae can be also called vector-borne virus, which is the Biosafety level 4 viruses.
