Cable Act

From Freepedia

The Cable Act of 1922 is an American law that reversed former immigration laws regarding marriage. The law allowed a U.S. woman marrying an immigrant to maintain her U.S. Citizenship.

NOTE: It is a common misconception that the law revoked female citizenship to any woman who married an immigrant. This misconception is fueled by several internet sources citing eachother.
