Intention

A cameltoe is sometimes intentional, caused by pulling up the bottoms excessively high or physically pushing the material in between the labia. It can also be created by accident and unknowingly when material closely follows the contours of the genitalia. However, while is it not necessarily always the case, most often girls and women are aware when a cameltoe is displayed.

The cameltoe is a target of intensive sexual attraction for some heterosexual men and lesbian women. It is indeed a defined and beloved fetish for many.

Cameltoe vs. bulge

As mentioned above, a true cameltoe requires the clear cleft between the labia, as seen here. Commonly, however, cameltoe is used to describe any visible display of the detail of a woman or girls vaginal area. As such, "bulges" are relatively common. The degree to which a mons pubis portrudes depends on a number of factors, including age and anatomical variation. A true cameltoe generally occurs with a single layer of material or clothing (i.e. no underwear). However, bulges are much more ubiquitous since they can be seen through several layers. In the UK, the bulge is usually referred to as the "mound".

Common circumstances

Cameltoes are commonly found in the following situations and clothing:

  • Exercise shorts, stretchpants and leggings—generally Lycra or spandex
  • Brief-style ladies underwear
  • Very tight-fitting jeans and denim
