The Catalpa Sphinx Ceratomia catalpae, also known as Catawba Worm, is a hawk moth native to southeastern North America.
The green caterpillars, growing to a length of about 5 cm (2 in), feed on the leaves of the Southern Catalpa, Catawba or Indian bean tree (Catalpa bignonioides). They are highly desired as fishing bait.
