This category is for geographical articles related to West Africa - that is, the countries shown in dark green on the map to the right. You can help Wikipedia by expanding them.
To add an article to this category, use {{AfricaW-geo-stub}} instead of {{Africa-geo-stub}}, {{geo-stub}}, or {{stub}}.
These countries are:
- Benin
- Burkina Faso - this has its own subcategory - use {{BurkinaFaso-geo-stub}}
- Cameroon
- Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)
- The Gambia
- Ghana - this has its own subcategory - use {{Ghana-geo-stub}}
- Guinea - this has its own subcategory - use {{Guinea-geo-stub}}
- Guinea-Bissau
- Liberia
- Mali
- Niger
- Nigeria - this has its own subcategory - use {{Nigeria-geo-stub}}
- Senegal
- Sierra Leone
- Togo
Geographical stubs relating to the island nation of Cape Verde may also be included in this category.
(note: Stubs relating to the Azores and Madeira should be assigned to Category: Portugal geography stubs; those for the Canary Islands should be assigned to Category:Spain geography stubs)
Note: As of September 2005, a decision was made to recategorize four countries that Wikipedia had been considering to be primarily West African and occassionally Central African as primarily Central African. The map above has not yet been changed to reflect this decision. These countries should have their geography stubs use the {{AfricaC-geo-stub}} and are:
- Equatorial Guinea
- Gabon
- Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville)
- São Tomé and Príncipe
