Society vs. Human Societies
Please make clear descriptions of categories Category:Society and Category:Human societies, to avoid confusion during categorization. mikka (t) 19:38, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
I think Category:Society and Category:Human societies should be merged because there is little or no difference between both concepts, as society is almost always human. Therefore, there isn't any reason to have these separated categories. I suggest to have only the category Society and merge Human societies into Society. - First, it is not occasional that the name is "Human societies", because the term "society" is applied now to non-human domain. mikka (t) 19:38, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- Second, IMO "Societies" cat must list various types of societies, while "Society" is for topics of general discussion related to the notion of society. mikka (t) 19:38, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
Navigating
A quick way to see the subcategories and articles: Try hitting the <End> key on the number pad of the keyboard to quickly scroll to the bottom of the category page. Then hit the up arrow on the keyboard to see more articles and subcategories.
Hi from Geography people
Hi everyone, I'm working on the portal at Category:Geography. At the moment that and this page are very similar looking but we should probably aim to sync design and layout and such. You may wish to look at that page and see if there's anything you want to incorporate. This page needs a bit of a cleanup and the disclaimer at the top is probably a good idea. Categories should be at the top
I found this by clicking on the top tier category on the main page and was disconcerted to be confronted with a rather random selection of content that was nothing to do with what I was looking for. Therefore I think the categories should be moved to the top. 82.35.34.11 03:48, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
- To scroll to the bottom of the page, you can hit [control]-[End] on your keyboard if you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer.
- To page down the screen, you can hit [PgDn] on your keyboard.

- I pushed Associated Categories to the top of the right hand side of the Human societies portal Ancheta Wis 15:24, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
Consistency
Over the past few days efforts have been made to 1- merge the portal pages of the 8 main-page subjects with their category pages, and 2- make them consistent with each other. Before making significant layout changes please discuss it so the 8 pages remain consistent. Elfguy 19:16, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
