Charles Marstiller Vest

Charles "Chuck" Marstiller Vest (born 1941) is a U.S. educator and engineer. He served as President of MIT from 1990 until December, 2004. He was succeeded as President by Susan Hockfield. On February 6, 2004, he was appointed to the Iraq Intelligence Commission by President George W. Bush.

Prior to his ascension to the MIT presidency, he served as the provost and professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan. He is a graduate of West Virginia University.
