The Chatham Petrel Pterodroma axillaris is a small, grey and white gadfly petrel.
The Chatham Petrel is restricted to South East Island in the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. This species is classified as critically endangered as it is restricted to one extremely small island and is continuing to decline owing to competition with the Broad-billed Prion Pachyptila vittata.
