Chi Psi
From Freepedia
On May 20, 1841, 10 students at Union College created the fraternity with emphasis on the fraternal and social principles of a brotherhood, rather than the literary characteristics of the 7 existing societies starting with the formation of Phi Beta Kappa at William & Mary. Chi Psi is a fraternity of many firsts, being the first social fraternity, as well as the first fraternity to establish a house, or "Lodge" as they are referred to because of the resemblance to a hunting lodge, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
As of January of 2005 Chi Psi consists of 30 chapters, each of them called an "Alpha". Chi Psi's official colors are royal purple and gold.
