Symbolism

  • The Cross keys symbolise a person of high religious status (Bishops often carry just two keys), joined by a embroidered stole.
  • The keys are gold and silver to represent the high and low status of the different people who follow Roman Catholicism
  • The triple crown is indicative of the Trinity (which is one of the central ideas of Christianity)
