Communication skills
From Freepedia
As they grow, most (all?) living creatures instinctively evolve communication skills or strategies to try to fill their needs from other creatures. Communication skills begin to evolve automatically in infancy, and are largely shaped by the responses and communicaction behaviors of local caregivers.Any verbal or nonverbal behavior that evokes a significant emotional, physical, or spiritual response from another person may be called "communication." Communication skills may be deemed effective if each person involved feels that their main current needs (a) are satisfied well enough, (b) in an acceptable or pleasing way.
Communication skills are the most essential tool we have to fill our social needs, yet paradoxically, few people study communication basics, options, blocks, or these seven learnable skills:

- awareness,
- Improve communication skills
- clear thinking,
- 'digging down' to discern your current needs,
- assertion,
- empathic listening (thanks to Steven Covey for this term),
- metatalk (talking about how you communicate), and
- problem solving, which uses all six other skills.
