Concepción del Uruguay

Concepción del Uruguay, is a city located in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina, some 320 kilometers north from Buenos Aires, founded on June 25 1783 by Tomás de Rocamora on the shore of the Uruguay River. The current population of the city is 64,954 inhabitants (2001 census [INDEC]).
Rich in ancient monuments, the city is sometimes referred to as La Historica ("The Historic") due to is participation in the national formation process. Today there are 3 major industries: the port, the industrial park (poultry, woods, auto-parts) and the state administration (including five faculties).
