The
dandy horse was an early 19th century two-wheeled
velocipede resembling a modern
bicycle in form, but propelled by the rider pushing along the ground with his feet. Also sometimes called a
draisine, but that term is now used primarily for light auxillary railcars of whatever form of propulsion.
