Detroit Country Day School (DCDS) is a private, secular school located in Beverly Hills, Michigan, northwest of Detroit.DCDS was founded in Detroit in 1914, inspired by the Country Day School movement. The school moved to its present location in 1957. In addition to the main campus in Beverly Hills, which includes the Middle and Upper School, two other campuses are located in nearby Bloomfield Hills.
The school's Motto is 'Mens Sana in Corprore Sano' or 'A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body'. It is considered one of the top college preparatory schools in the Midwest, and has long a tradition of athletic excellence. The DCDS mascot is the yellowjacket.
In addition, Detroit Country Day School has ranked highly in the state of Michigan and even the United States in terms of academics. 100% of alumni from the school have gone to a successful 4 year college. An average of 13 alumni a year go to notable universities, such as Harvard, MIT, Yale, and Princeton.
Students at Detroit Ciunty Day usually studdy for a International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
