Dionisio Aguado

Dionisio Aguado (April 8 1784December 29, 1849) was a Spanish classical guitarist and composer.

Born in Madrid, he studied with Miguel Garcia. In 1825, Aguado visited Paris, where he met and became friends with and for a while lived with Fernando Sor.

His major work Escuela de Guitarra was published in 1825. It is still reprinted today (Tecla editions).

Aguado returned home to Madrid in 1838 and died there aged 65.
