Congo (Kinshasa) is a country in civil war in which political parties don't play a real role. The father of president Joseph Kabila seized power after a civil war and proclaimed himself president. After he was killed, Joseph took over the presidency. The parliament and all other parties have been dissolved. Kabila Sr. appointed a 300 member Assembly in 2000.
