The false cobra (Malpolon moilensis ) is a mildly toxic snake found in parts of Asia. As the name suggests that this is not a cobra. It imitates a cobra's stance by spreading its neck into a hood and hissing like the cobra. It is a defensive posture and is considered harmless to man though the bite can be painful by itself. It can grow upto 1.5 metres in length and preys on rodents and lizards.
