Flamengo

Flamengo is the name of a neighborhood (bairro) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is located between the Centro and Botafogo districts on the edge of Guanabara Bay. The beach front area is dominated by a park (the Parque do Flamengo) built on nearly 300 acres (1.2 km²) of land reclaimed from the bay and completed in 1960.

Flamengo is also a name of a multimodality sportive association, and a Brazilian football (soccer) team.
