The Gee's Golden Langur (Trachypithecus geei) or simply the Golden Langur is an Old World monkey found primarily in the foothills of the Himalayas along the Assam Bhutan border. They are known for their rich golden to bright creamish hair, a black face, a very long tail measuring upto 50cm in length. For the most part, the langur is confined to high trees where its long tail serves as a balancer when it leaps across branches. Their diet is vegetarian consisting of fruits, leaves and flowers. They generally live in groups and are currently endangered.
