General Santos City (GenSan for short) is a 1st class city in the province of South Cotabato, Philippines. It is the major port of the province. It is bordered by Mount Mautum and Mount Magolo on the north, and Sarangani Bay to the south. The city has a land area of 492.86 square kilometers, with a population of 327,123 in 1995. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 411,822 people in 86,595 households.
