From Freepedia
Gerard I. Nierenberg is a successful lawyer and author. He is famous for being the first to realize the role negotiation plays in resolving disputes in personal, business and international relations. His years of working as a lawyer lead to the discovery that the various philosophies of the negotiators determine the direction a negotiation takes. His book "The Art of Negotiation" is a best-selling classic which formed the foundation of all future negotiation books, training sessions, publications and seminars.
Nierenberg has a very impressive list of accomplishments (such as having consulted with 2 U.S. Presidents, negotiating independence for Bangledesh, and countless other examples). His “Everybody Wins®” philosophy assures that all parties benefit from the negotiation process which also yields more successful outcomes than the adversarial “winner takes all” approach.
He went on to found the world's foremost negotiation authority organization, the Negotiation Institute, which is based in New York City.
